BINDER TWINE FESTIVAL
Binder Twine 2003 Results
New Binder Twine Queen is Crowned!
The 2003 Binder Twine Festival was a great success, thanks to the hundreds of volunteers and to the many organizations and individuals who provided donations and services.
There were seven contestants at this year's Binder Twine Queen Contest at the September 6th Binder Twine Festival. After a very entertaining and hard-fought competition involving nail driving, log sawing, pancake flipping, hog calling, pumpkin carving and, of course, cow milking, the overall winner was Suzanne Bowerman (aka. Suzy Q). She took home $1,500 and it was her first attempt!
The second place prize of $750 went to Gail Wilson (a.k.a. Mabel). The third place prize of $400 went to Jackie Nickerson (a.k.a. Lindy Loo) and the fourth place prize of $200 went to Marion D'Eathe (a.k.a. Molly Mouse).
Honourable mentions must go to Pamela Roberts, Dot Sinclair and Antoinette Krakovsky who took home $20 each just for entering. Hopefully all the entrants will try again next year (except for the Queen, who is now ineligible to participate).
Remember, you just have to be a Kleinburg or Nashville area female resident, aged between 16 and eternity! Want-to-be queens now have a whole year to practice their womanly skills.
See you all next year at the stage, at 4:30 p.m. on September 11th, 2004!
